PITTSBURGH BOARD ENDORSES TV/THEATRICAL CONTRACT

PITTSBURGH (February 24, 2005) At its February 9th meeting, the Local Board of AFTRA Pittsburgh voted unanimously to support the 2005 SAG/AFTRA TV/Theatrical Contract, and recommend that the Local's membership vote to approve the deal.

Ballots must be received in the Everett, Washington, Post Office Box no later than 8:00 p.m. (EST) February 28, 2005 This is important to ALL members, whether you work under this contract or not.

The new contract offers $200 MILLION IN GAINS, including:

  • Pay raises for every category of performer
  • Protects the existing studio zone for background
  • Preserves existing number of background jobs
  • Most employer money ever to Pension & Health
  • Improved safety rules
  • Pension & Health for choreographers
  • Increased rest periods for stunt coordinators
  • and much more
