BOARD ELECTION RESULTS ANNOUNCED

PITTSBURGH (June 10, 2004) The results of AFTRA Pittsburgh's Board election are in. Four incumbents retained their seats and four new faces will begin their terms when the results are certified at the Board meeting on Monday, June 14. The Pittsburgh local also has elected a new representative to the AFTRA National Board of Directors, and a new Alternate.

Alan Boal, John Garry, Mark Roberts and Adrienne Wehr retained their positions on the Board. Marc Field, Leslie Merrill McCombs, Nancy Mimless and Steve Stone have been elected for the first time. All will begin their two-year terms on June 14.

The AFTRA Pittsburgh Board of Directors is comprised of fifteen freelance members, elected by the membership as a whole, and individual Broadcast members elected by their respective units. The freelance Board members are elected for two-year terms, with seven standing for election in odd-numbered years, and eight in even-numbered years.

In a separate election, Mark Roberts was chosen to be Pittsburgh's new representative to the AFTRA National Board of Directors, replacing Susan Chapek who is resigning. Roberts had previously been the Alternate, serving on the occasions Ms. Chapek was unable to attend.

Pittsburgh Local President, Paul Martino, was elected Alternate National Board member. National Board and Alternate terms end in June, 2007.

All election results will be announced and officially certified at the Board meeting on Monday, June 14, 2004, 5:30 PM at Dowe's on Ninth. The Annual Membership Meeting follows at 6:30.
